Add A Deck of the Rockies recently completed a stunning 1,424-square-foot custom deck for a homeowner in Conifer, Colorado, transforming the property into a beautiful, multi-level outdoor retreat designed for year-round enjoyment.

Built for Colorado’s Mountain Environment

Homes in Conifer experience some of Colorado’s most demanding weather conditions, including intense sunshine, heavy snow, dramatic temperature changes, and mountain winds. That’s why every deck we build is engineered for long-term performance using premium materials that can withstand Colorado’s climate while requiring minimal maintenance.

For this project, the homeowners selected Trex Transcend® Lineage™ Carmel decking as the primary deck surface, accented with Trex Transcend® Lineage™ Jasper to create striking visual contrast and define key architectural features. The combination delivers the warm appearance of natural wood while offering the low-maintenance durability that Trex® decking is known for.

Premium Materials from the Ground Up

Because long-term structural integrity is just as important as appearance, this deck was constructed using a steel framing system with steel support posts. Steel framing provides exceptional strength, resists warping, twisting, and rot, and creates a solid foundation designed to last for decades.

To complete the project, we installed approximately 130 linear feet of Trex® Select Black Aluminum Railing, providing unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape while adding both safety and a clean, modern architectural finish.

Expanding the Outdoor Living Space

The project extended well beyond the deck itself. Beneath the elevated deck, we constructed an impressive 1,000-square-foot stamped concrete patio complete with connecting steps. This created a second outdoor living area ideal for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying Colorado’s beautiful mountain scenery.

The finished design provides multiple gathering spaces that flow seamlessly between the upper deck and lower patio, significantly increasing the usable outdoor living area while enhancing the home’s overall curb appeal and value.

Approximately Five Weeks from Start to Finish

Projects of this size require careful planning, precise engineering, and experienced craftsmanship. From structural steel framing through the final installation of the decking, railings, and patio, the entire project was completed in approximately five weeks.

Every phase of construction was carefully coordinated to ensure quality workmanship while delivering an outdoor living space built to provide years of enjoyment.
