Their goal was to preserve the spectacular mountain views surrounding their home while creating an elegant, low-maintenance outdoor living environment they could enjoy for years to come.

Replacing an Aging Deck with a Modern Outdoor Living Space

The original deck had served the homeowners well for many years, but it no longer reflected the beauty of the home or its incredible mountain setting.

Working closely with the homeowners, Add A Deck of the Rockies designed a completely new outdoor living space that maximizes both functionality and aesthetics while preserving the property’s panoramic views.

One of the homeowners’ highest priorities was ensuring the surrounding forests and mountain scenery remained the focal point of the outdoor living area.

Trex® Glass Railings Preserve Every Mountain View

To create unobstructed sightlines, we installed approximately 120 linear feet of Trex Signature® Glass Railing in Charcoal Black.

Unlike traditional railing systems, the glass panels provide safety while allowing homeowners and guests to fully appreciate Evergreen’s breathtaking mountain scenery from nearly every angle.

The sleek black framing complements the home’s architecture while blending naturally into the surrounding landscape.

Premium Trex® Decking Built for Colorado

This project features an impressive 1,080-square-foot Trex Transcend® Tiki Torch deck with 144 square feet of Trex Transcend® Lava Rock fascia, creating beautiful contrast and a warm, natural appearance inspired by Colorado’s mountain environment.

Trex® composite decking provides the rich look of wood without the ongoing maintenance of staining, sealing, or painting. It also resists fading, splintering, rot, and insect damage, making it an outstanding choice for Colorado’s demanding climate.

Built on Steel for Lasting Performance

Beautiful decking deserves an equally durable foundation.

The new outdoor living space was constructed using approximately 1,045 square feet of steel framing, providing exceptional strength and long-term structural stability. Steel framing resists warping, twisting, shrinking, and rot, creating a foundation that’s designed to perform for decades.

A Custom Spiral Staircase Adds Architectural Elegance

One of the most distinctive features of this project is the beautiful 5-foot, 6-inch custom spiral staircase finished with matching Trex Transcend® Tiki Torch treads.

The staircase provides convenient access between outdoor living areas while serving as an eye-catching architectural centerpiece that enhances both functionality and visual appeal.

Outdoor Living Doesn’t End at the Deck

To maximize the usable outdoor space, we also installed approximately 1,170 square feet of two-color stamped concrete patio and walkways beneath and around the deck.

The combination of the elevated Trex® deck and expansive stamped concrete patio creates multiple areas for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying Colorado’s beautiful mountain setting throughout the year.

Approximately Eight Weeks from Start to Finish

Projects of this size require careful planning, expert craftsmanship, and close attention to every detail.

From demolition of the original deck through construction of the steel framing, installation of the Trex® decking, glass railings, custom spiral staircase, lighting, and stamped concrete patio, the entire project was completed in approximately eight weeks.
