Modern Trex Deck Transformation in Littleton, Colorado

Modern Trex Deck Transformation in Littleton, Colorado
When the owners of this Littleton, Colorado home decided it was time to replace their existing deck, they wanted more than just a new outdoor space. They wanted a sharp, modern deck design that complemented the contemporary look and colors of their home while improving access between the front and back yards.
Add A Deck of the Rockies removed the existing deck and created a completely new outdoor living space featuring Trex Transcend® Lineage™ decking, Newcastle Steel framing, Trex aluminum railings, and a new stamped concrete patio.
A Modern Two-Tone Trex Deck Design
The homeowners selected two complementary shades of grey from the Trex Transcend Lineage collection to coordinate with their home’s exterior.
The primary deck surface and stairs feature 535 square feet of Trex Transcend Lineage Salt Flat decking. Its light grey tone gives the deck a clean, contemporary appearance.
For contrast, we installed 156 square feet of Trex Lineage Island Mist on the fascia and border. The darker grey creates a defined edge around the lighter Salt Flat decking and gives the finished deck a distinctive two-tone appearance.
Newcastle Steel Framing for Strength and Durability
The new deck was built on a strong, durable foundation of Newcastle Steel Framing, providing long-lasting structural support for the Trex decking.
Engineered steel framing provides exceptional strength, stability, and long-term durability while creating a solid foundation for the composite decking above. It’s an excellent choice for homeowners looking for a high-performance deck structure designed for years of Colorado outdoor living.
Trex Aluminum Railings Complete the Modern Look
The railing system was selected to complement the clean lines of the deck and home.
We installed 74 linear feet of Trex Select aluminum railing with a Trex Island Mist top cap. The combination ties the railing into the darker Island Mist border and fascia while maintaining the sleek, modern appearance the homeowners wanted.

New Stamped Concrete Patio and Improved Backyard Access
This project extended well beyond the deck itself.
We added a grey stamped concrete patio underneath the elevated deck, creating additional usable outdoor living space at ground level.
A new concrete pathway and stairs were also constructed to connect the front yard with the backyard patio and deck stairs. An ADA handrail was installed along the pathway and stairs to provide safer, easier access between the two areas.
The result is a much more functional connection between the front yard, backyard, patio, and upper deck.

A Complete Outdoor Living Transformation in Four Weeks
From demolition of the old deck through construction of the new deck, steel framing, railings, concrete patio, pathway, and stairs, the entire project was completed in approximately four weeks.
The finished project combines contrasting grey Trex decking, steel framing, aluminum railings, and stamped concrete to create a cohesive outdoor space that looks like it was designed as part of the home’s original architecture.
